Evansville Manor: Skilled Healthcare & Rehabilitation

From the Administrator

March 2017

Well, in February, as you know the official Pennsylvania ground hog and the now famous Sun Prairie ground hog (famous for having bitten the ear of the town mayor a couple of years ago) both agreed that we would have 6 more weeks of winter.  Regardless, however, the spring equinox this month officially brings forth spring (but also some of our most abundant snowfalls at times).

As I indicated to you last month, we had planned a trip to Orlando, FL, in celebration of the birthdays of my wife and our grandson and, therefore, that's where I am now writing this Manor Messenger Newsletter to you before heading out into the decadently slothful day with wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.

We have spent a day at Disney World and my grandson and I spent a day at Sea World.  In both places he and I rode all the roller coasters (the rest of our party is not into such violent adventure).  I, on the other hand, have to take part in such activities so that I'm not outdone by a lowly teenager.  You might note the attached photo of one of our adventurous rides.

By the time you read this I'll be long back home and into the routine of life, enjoying the company of each of you, and the more temperate Wisconsin weather. I do look forward to it.

Influenza is out and about and even a facility near here has had an outbreak such that closing admissions and restricting visitation was implemented.  As I have done previously, I want to remind everyone to be sure and get influenza vaccinated, especially prior to visiting our residents, and also especially for children.  Anyone exhibiting respiratory distress symptoms, or if in contact with those who are, should refrain from visiting.  If anything is questionable, or if someone has not been vaccinated for any reason, they should mask, covering both the mouth and nose, when in the building.  The Wisconsin Division of Health advises that influenza has increased in the area, especially for those over age 65.

It should also be noted that any gastrointestinal distress symptoms (often called stomach flu) should also be addressed in the same above manner as indicated for influenza.  AND "ALWAYS WASH THOSE HANDS"!

As has been suggested previously, we are including a listing of the employees who will celebrate Evansville Manor employment dates during this coming month. We, therefore, want to acknowledge all of those employees accordingly and you will find the current month's personnel in the attached.  Congratulations to all.  We appreciate your loyalty and dedication to us and our residents.

Have a great month and remember the coming of spring that will be here soon.  I expect we will also celebrate St. Patrick's Day, especially for those of you have some Irish blood (I have none).
